Hi, I am using Nikon D70s. friends how many times I can discharge/charge my lithium-ion battery?

I am using D100 for more than 3 years now and perhaps have charged its lithium ion battery thousands of times without any problem so far. I was initially skeptical in charging it again until its fully exhausted but lately I just charge it again to full if going out trailing etc. So far its working very well. I hope & pray for its long life :)

I was just on vacation for 9 days and didn't charge my battery once. I took around 400-500 (maybe more) pix, viewed and deleted the whole way through without a thought.
I always thought that if you let your batteries run down completely they lose their ability to hold a charge. I could be wrong but I keep mine as full as possible.

Modern batteries do not create a memory like older rechargeables did, so you can safely recharge fully or partially discharged batteries without any problems.

Yes, that's true, but I've also heard that lithium-ion batteries have an expected lifetime of about 3-5 years, or 300-500 full charges, whichever comes first. I've noticed that the capacity on li-ion batteries will slightly decrease over time, but I've never really worn out one, yet.
BTW, I'm impressed with battery life on the D70s, it takes forever to run it down! |
