The blower for my central air in the attic went out. That means I have no a/c and it was like 89 degrees in my house last week. Hot!
So anyways, I have some a/c people coming by to replace the motor, fan and capacitor. But they didn't see the housing unit. See the photo? That hole is where the mount bolts into.
So my question is, can they just drill three new holes in different locations? You know, kind rotate the mount clockwise a bit? Or no?

they should be able to redrill some holes to make it work. Only problem I see is the wires may not be long enough if they rotate it too much. Also the will probablly need to use the same size bolts to not hit the fan blades inside
it only 89 in the house....my A/C went out on July 4th a few years ago and it got to 95 degrees in the coolest part of the house. Luckily the home was new and the A/C was covered 100% by the home builder. Had to replace the outside condenser and tear my closet wall apart to replace a section of the freon line that had a leak in it.

And I thought I was having trouble. I went to clean my window unit's filter to find out it is torn and badly worn. I called Sears (It's a kenmore that is about 6 years old) after 3 different department switches no one could find a filter for me... I think I would rather replace a window unit than a central blower. |

I wouldn't rotate it at all. I would try to bend the arm out to make it reach past the hole and put it there. Or bolt a small extention on it to make it reach past the hole.

I just put some chewing gum on it and it's working like new!
hehe
Just kidding. The repair guy showed up and bolted a small piece of metal on top of the hole. I like it when service companies get creative to save me a buck. $400 later, I got a new coil, motor, capacitor and all. It's running like O.J. Simpson in a white Bronco... fast and as stealthy as possible.

If you get some solar cells you can run your AC on DC... |
