If you need it, you don't really have a choice.

Is that how much they normally go for? I sold my BG-E1 (Rebel's grip) for $80 or so used on eBay.

you have to remember you may need a new camera bag if you get this. I would love to have one.

I'm getting about 2,000 shots out of my battery in my camera, one battery is lasting me about a week and a half of pretty heavy shooting (heavy for my world, not national geographics).

Extra weight, I've spent far too long getting my biceps exactly the same size, don't want to risk throwing that off.

So it has no appeal to me at all. Something like that to drive my flashes would be cool, got my eye on those already.

Good luck, let us know how you like it.

I believe that the vertical grip shown uses a fiber optic strand to trigger the shutter via the IR remote sensor. I believe you can see the cable in the second picture. This cable atatches to the front of the camera and runs up to the IR sensor above the D70 logo. I don't know if this works exactly the same as pressing the shutter release button. I assume that the vertical grip still has the same functionality of a half-press for focusing? Anyone know how the IR Remote works on this grip? I also get about 1500 to 2000 shots on my single battery.

reserached the same product a couple of weeks back. the jenis model is the most attractive (in terms of astetics and function). but i dont think the half press function of the shutter button works as it actually uses the IR capability of the camera
