Well i have found the threads that are devoted to specific things, like the alamy thread quite useful, so here is a thread devoted to experience and thoughts on camera canada.

I have been evaluating buying a bunch of equiptment the last month and tyring to decide where to buy from. It ended up being between B&H in the states, or Camera Canada in canada. since i live in canada, i woud have to pay 14% on anything coming to me from the states.

So anyhow, to keep this post short,
I have so far ordered from Camera Canada, however 3 out of the 5 items are backordered :( I think it was somewhat misleading on their part to let me fill up my cart and discuss prices with me, only to let me get to the virtual checkout and type my mastercard in... and THEN SAY.. sorry you have to wait 2 weeks for this item. If B&H doesn't have the item in stock, they say so BEFORE you order.

Now that i have THAT peave vented, They did give a very competitive price compared to B&H so I was very pleased with that. As long as they continue the good service (or more specifically good prices, and friendly service staff) i will be a faithful customer (but with that backordering thing.... they are off to a bad start)

One more thought.

Their search function needs some patience. If you don't find it by searching... don't think it's not there. If you search for "canon 20d" ... you will get 0 results... yep, 0. I think their search needs a little refining. If you follow the link maze however, you will be able to find most of what you are looking for.

Thanks for the link. With the back-order problem, I think I might tend to make my orders by phone instead. I ordered some computer gear from a website once & the same thing happened, but I wasn't notified it was on backorder until I phoned asking where it was, so I cancelled.

I blame this sort of poor service on the people who are patient enough to put up with it. If everyone were as hot-headed as I am, service would be much better all around.
