I would like to make a braket-like { image in photoshop.
I am gussing this is where the pen tool comes in handy...however, I have almost no idea how to use it, anyone have any free websites in mind? I wasnt too pleased with what google had to offer...

Just set the character with the type tool, and then render the type layer to make it into pixels. |

How "bracket-like" should it be? You could always just do a bracket in a text layer, then size/distort to taste. Or use a bracket (text layer again) as a backdrop/model for your custom creation (with the pen tool). Just create another layer on top of it, select pen, and start dropping points. You will probably want to drop the opacity of your layer down (you can do it even while you're dropping points with the pen tool). |

alright, i had not thought to use the text as a map of sort, very good idea.
any on with and links on how to use the pen tool?

Do a search in Google for "Bezier tool how to" and there are a number of pages that come up.
