Google rocks. It's the best for searching images, hands down, and its info searches have always worked well for me. Add to that the simplicity and the cleanliness, and I have no complaints! |

my frustration with google is this:
on many searches, almost the first 2 pages of results is full of "shadow" sites that people have set up. these sites are nothing but lists of sponsored links for which they get paid. so, instead of "organic" or "natural" search results coming up to the top, we instead get these pages that THEN show the same sponsored links available on the main Google page for the search.
if you're confused, i understand. it's a roundabout way. but what's happening is that sponsored links from google's adwords and adsense programs are slowly taking over the search features and making google a LOT less useful than it once was. it's a giant now, but many many people are getting more and more frustrated with it for reasons such as this. |

Google is awesome. It's by far the best search engine I've ever used, plus they've been gradually adding a bunch of other services that also rock. Google images is super useful, as is froogle. Google scholar is great when I can't access more powerful academic databases when I'm out of the office. GMail in my opinion, is the best free e-mail available. Google Local is really sweet...like an electronic yellowpages, with links to maps. Google maps is going to oust mapquest pretty quick (same concept except the map display is 4x the size of mapquest and you can overlay it on satellite images). And after reading about it in another forum here last night, I have discovered google earth, which may be the coolest program I've been introduced to since photoshop. |

Google is my encyclopedia, my shopping guide, my map (both topographic and road) and my home page. (and yes, I agree with Saracat & Madmordegon, sometimes it's just plain funny)
Something like DPChallenge. I guess I just like it.

funny this came up...i love google btw, but i had to do a search for a school assignment to gather info....they told me type "Free Photography Services" and search for it on google to find photo sharing websites....but using those words gave me bad results. I used my own words "Photo Sharing" and BAM!!!!! there was everything i needed.
