Reminds me of "humpty dumpty"... but here it goes.
As said before, during my 'great fall' shooting at the palace, my camera also picked up some damage. At first it looked okay, just the little auto focus light showing outside the box. However, the little light then started fading and now it has no autofocus at all. So today I am sending my heart, soul and reason for going from day to day to 'hospital'. Don't know how long it will be before I get it back..
Please do not send any flowers or 'get well soon' card, rather donate that money to the MS Walk.
What will I do with myself...!? :_( |

Here's hoping you get a fast turn-around!
What will you do with yourself? Hang out more in the forums, LOL.

My sympathy. I had a "great fall" a few weeks back when a brick gave way on the retaining wall that was supporting my weight. My camera arm and camera hit the wall. My arm did not break, but my camera (and lens) took some major damage. The good news was I had a no fault repair plan, the bad news was that it would take 6-8 weeks minimum to get it back. After going through major mourning and withdrawl, I baought a second camera body. It's amazing how deeply connected a person can be to a camera.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. |

I have no idea if this can help the speed of the repair or even if you want to use this option, but you might want to include a letter with the camera when you ship it off for repairs stating your condition and how this fine Canon product is key to keeping you busy, makes you feel better, motivates you, etc.
Something to think about as it may speed up the process of having the camera returned to you so you can continue your therapy through photography.
Just a thought. Hope you're feeling ok.
Take care.

| Thank you for the kind support. beagleboy, I may have my camera back by Monday...! Don't worry I will spend my little time wisely catching up on giving feedback. Cost? Will only know in 2 days time but at least $70.00 because they will have to 'open it up'. |

| She is back!!!! Replaced something on the autofocus and some sensor... I paid my 70,000 won, about $60.00, and here she is. Compliments to the Koreans. They even fine tuned the autofus... She's back and I don't even have to miss a beat. ;-) |

What wonderful service!! I'm so pleased you didn't have to wait too long to get her back! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Our service here is not quite so speedy, mine's been with Mr Canon since the 28th June. When I rang I think they sensed my despair and bumped her from 20th to 6th in the queue......should be looked at next Monday. I'm very lucky to still have my Sony 717 :))
