We have quite a few Zoo's in The Netherlands, but they're too far from where I live for just a quick visit.

Hey, but it says 'might find in a zoo' and in our zoo's you'll find guinypigs and rabbits too LOL, lots of rabbits where I live.

I know of the Bronx Zoo, are there any others (in the city)?

There is a Zoo in Central Park, or used to be, and I also believe there is a zoo in a park in Brooklyn?

And then there is Yankee Stadium!

This is one I would really like to enter, but the National (DC) Zoo is about 2 hours away from me... I'm thinking about it.

We have a local zoo that isn't great, but it's a fun opportunity to take my son and a friend to do something different. Unfortunately, by the time we get there, it's going to be hot and the animals will all be lazy, but that may mean they are still and I can get a good shot. LOL

for "things you might see at a zoo," maybe you could find people hanging over a railing. If the shot were really well done, I think it would score well, even without any animals. Just my opinion.

Good luck everybody........... Judy

i'm about an hour away from the border I89. i live in Essex, VT
but am not really allowed in canada. also, time is tough this time of year for me to make a day trips even.

i'll keep it in mind though, and think i have heard of that zoo before.

I'd have quite a drive to get to a zoo as well, so I'm thinking why not?... Slide the wifes leopard print lingerie on the dog and start shooting!

I was so lucky. I got so many great animal shots today at the zoo that I cannot decide. Do you think I should go more traditional or an animal nobody sees? The shots turned out so clear. I was amazed. I need a sounding board. AUGHHHH

This gallery was on the front page of pbase tonight. Rather inspirational (or depressing?) for the upcoming challenge.

Well..... went to the zoo yesterday which was basically a waste of time. Most of the exhibits were behind nasty blurry plexi-glass which ruined the pics, but didn't make much of a difference because the animals were all hiding and sleeping due to the heat.

Looks like I am going to have to get creative for this challenge... either that or find another zoo nearby! :/

No real zoo close plus have to work, got 5 good shots at a so called zoo and can't deceide. Not that great, heat was terrible!

WOW!!!! Those pictures are mesmerizing! Who took those pictures? Looks like the other 2 winners in this challenge will have to settle for red & yellow, huh??? AMAZING!!!!

I had a hard time with the animals (and ME) being so hot. I ended up only taking 2 shots. But fortunately, I like them enough to submit one of them. After that gallery tho. . . I feel like unsubmitting :)

Normally I have to think really hard to come up with a mediocre entry for a challenge. As the zoo is virtually on my doorstep and I have a season ticket, it'll be dead simple for me to some up with a mediocre entry for this challenge.
