let's just all take a step back and a deep breath. this thread is teetering on the brink of rant and nobody really wants that. this is where we bitch and moan about our scores. let's let that be the extent of the anger.

It's odd. I voted high on a lot of these photos I have tons of 7, 8, 9's selected and hardly any below three. I looked mainly at the photo Quality. I thought a lot of the shots were done fairly well. I usually only give or take one point for "meets the challenge" I must admit at least three of them really threw me off in this area. I am going to go back and try to comment on all the photos now.
I'm at 4.8 :( but I don't have any experience at this sort of thing and try to grow from my scores. :)

| My 7 year old sons father died 3 weeks ago and I took pictures of my son's last goodbye to his father. I would have entered them into this challenge except that they did not meet the requirements. I beleive family can be depicted in a large variety of ways. |

Even one child alone would convey the feeling of family in my book. Having three children myself Is I guess what causes that reaction. I see a photo of a child and think of the pride and love a prent feels for their child and think of my children..hence family. Children very much represent family as they are often at the center of a families attention. |

I would love to see that photo if you care to share. Im sure it is a very moving photo. Hope your son is adjusting to his loss. |

YIPPEE!! Somebody finally got it!!! I got the most encouraging comment after one that said "you need two for it to be family." UGH I don't want to give mine away, so I won't say anything further.

still at 3.9 -- I find it funny that some people are so closed-minded. Oh well, what else could I have expected. Of course, I don't see how it could be any more family-oriented, but whatever...some people.

I'm not normally a pollyanna, but I just wanted to say that
1) My picture is scoring exactly where it ought to be, in my opinion,
2) I'm amazed at the number of helpful comments; I've never had so many on a fairly average submission before - I'm going to definitely try to enter all the low submission challenges, and
3) I love the images in this contest, especially the candids. This challenge has been the most fun for me to look through, and contains some of my favorite images.

| It frustrates me a little. My image is outside the box, unless you really look at the photo. Several people picked up on my thoughts and commented favorably. The others just do not see it. My concern is nobody is commenting on the quality of the image. Regardless of whether they feel it meets the challenge or not they should atleast voice a opinion on the photo. |
