I have recently started shooting in RAW with the hack installed on the 300D. I have it setup to record RAW + small smooth. However, when I transfer to ACDSEE, all I see are the RAW and .THM files, no jpeg. Am I doing something wrong?

i used to have that program, but not anymore or else i would look for the answer, but my guess is there is a setting disabled that displays the raw and the smaller jpg version of it try looking in the settings and seeing if there is something, either that or wait for some else to tell ya

The jpeg isn't a separate file. It's embedded in the RAW file. To extract it you need the Canon software.

I think the Rebel XT and the 20D actually produce the jpg as an individual file.

What software are you refering to? I've got "File Viewer", "Zoom Browser" and "Digital Photo Pro" and can't seem to get the jpg.

File Viewer - the extract jpeg option is in one of the menus

Does this mean, by any chance, that there is a way to permanently remove the JPEG (or would this reduce functionality?) from the RAW file in order to save a little more space in the long run?

Good question though I don't think so.
