I am researhing my genealogy and have hit a strange spot.
My family name seems to be adopted by a generation born after 1814.
I know this was the end of nepoleon's war but unsure of anything else occuring at that time, was it normal to give your children surnames different than your own at that time?

Karna. Karna married Nills NILLSSON.
