I noticed recently that the firmware for the 20D is now at version 2 and my camera has 1.1 installed. I tried to get the update from Canon, no luck - it never initiates a download. Is there a trick to this? I emailed Canon three times about this and so far no response. Do I need this update? IT says it is for WiFi and I don't have (will never have either) so do I need this? How do you go about updating it anyway? No instructions that I found.

From what I read you only need it if using the wireless file transmitter WFT-E1.
