Here's my entry from the recent Bird challenge.
I went back to the zoo today to take some more shots, and here's what I came up with.
    
I'm not happy with the colors on the first four. They're just too yelow for me. Since there was no yellow beak in the last shot, I just shifted the hue of the yellow channel to get the background color I wanted. Any critiques are welcome.

Those are some good wing flapping pics. Love the black and white challenge photo. Some of the others the wings look a little blurry.
I went to a pond last November and took pictures of ducks. I want to do that again some time. Here is one of mine. My picture is farther back.

You've got some good flapping action, but a couple of tips ...
They all suffer from "muddy water". Try to use reflections of surrounding trees or flowers to put some colour/interest into the background. The best position for this will change during the day as the sun moves.
Shadowy areas also work well as backdrops as you can completely black them out with a curves adjustment.
The ducks also look quite old and scrawny, not that that's entirely a bad thing, but younger birds can provide a more attractive subject.
As for blur on the wings ... I like it. Without blur you don't get the same sense of movement. Keep shooting, the world needs more duck photographers ; )

I just love ducks!! I eat my lunch with them most days at a park near where I work. I especially love the kind in Bryan's pictures. They are so majestic. Here's a couple of my favorite duck pictures:

Thats funny; you eat lunch WITH ducks, I eat the DUCKS. Ain't life strange?

Awwww, Bear_Music!!!! You eat those wonderful creatures ???? Here I am giving them half my lunch, and you go making them YOUR lunch!
I wonder who enjoys them more ???? Probably me. me. me :)
