Since the majority of my comments were about my use of grain, both liked and disliked, and I couldn't do more than basic editing back then anyway, I decided to re-do my obsolete submission. I think I'm at a point I like to print, but would like anyone elses opinion.

If and when I print I will probably leave out the black border and just use a matte instead, not sure though.

Anyone else re-do a recent submission?

Thanks for your time.

I'm getting a link to the old one?

I really like your reworked image alot. Much better then the original, in my opinion anyways. It's a very interesting treatment and I like the color tones you've chosen. Much improved! :-)

Are the spots in the sky in the re-do intentional? I personally like the original more than the re-do.

I'm sorry, what do you mean?

jenesis---thank you, I like this color too.

TobyF---yes they were intentional to hopefully add age, I toned them down a lot but felt they needed it a little.

It's me then - often I open a page and cannot see some of the images posted...:(

I kinda like the new one. Not sure about the border, but I like the "old" effect of the little spots. The overall cleaner picture puts more focus on the train and less on the grain.

I love the new one. That is a beautiful train picture.

I really like good train pictures so much! I have some great memories as a child, living in Germany, my family took some awesome train trips. I remember seeing the most beautiful scenery mile after mile. A picture like this really speaks to me. I love it.

Good job!

I just realized that when I was trying to blur out the background to minimize the modern stuff that I also blurred the sky and too much of the ground around the train...guess it's back to the digital darkroom again...might do this one with out noise to see how that is.

Thank you everyone for you comments.

I really like the new one. The border makes the picture bolder.

bumping for morning/afternoon comments...if you don't mind that is.

Thanks

I also did this one this morning with a snow effect to make it seem like winter...kind of like it.
