Those guys are for real!

Wow, tell us the story of how you found them.

Odd that you posted this. Yesterday morning I found an area where three great horned owls are hanging out and might go back tonight to shoot them. I thought it was weird to see three since they mate for life and will eat othe owls. I asked my bird expert friend and he said it's is a mom, pop, and child.

There is a place called Lake Martin. I fish there sometimes. Anyway hundreds if not thousands of egrets nest and breed there. A few weeks ago I was there for the naturally framed challenge and spotted the owls. I need to do a little work on the photo to bring them out a little more.

Well, it's a fabulous photo. My first thought (after understanding it was real and not a spoof) was to think it resembled a detail of a christmas tree decorated all in owls. Great seeing to find this.

i went camping this holiday weekend and had three baby owls and (i think) the mama in our campsite. i had my mini chihuaha(sp?) and got nervous cause rabbits are bigger than he is. so we locked up the dog and i got the trusty camera out and snapped away about 60 photos. hard to do night photos hand held too!
