Just learning to get to grips with my D70.. When in P,S,A modes, I find the exposures are all darker than I would expect. If I shoot in Auto mode, they come out bright with good saturation.

Should I be changing more on the camera.. ISO speed etc when using the P,S,A modes? What does Auto do to make the exposure so different. I have taken the same shot at diferent settings within seconds of each other... Auto setting is always the best.

Many Thanks

Check if you haven't accidentally adjusted Exposure Compensation.

RAS I have an amazing book on the D70 on cd if you would like a copy of it e-mail me @ JTF6Agent@aol.com with your address and I can send you a copy. It goes into about 100 times more detail than the manual Nikon gave you.
