Hello all,

I'm considering the purchase of a wide-format printer, and am looking at the Canon i9100. The predecessor Canon S9000 has received some good reviews, but I've been holding out because the i9100 printer offers more dpi resolution. It's very new on the market.

I'd like to hear all opinions about the Canon printers, both good and bad, and especially in comparison with Epson and HP printers of the same caliber. Your thoughts on cost comparison, performance, and reliability of ink tanks versus cartridges with built-in print heads are also requested.

Bear in mind that I have been doing my Internet research on all this. I'm interested in word-of-mouth opinions now.

Also, just curious, but has anyone printed anything larger than 11x17 from the Fuji S602 camera? I understand that I'd have to manipulate a photo in software in order to get a print that large. The i9100 printer can print up to 13x19. This printer may provide more than I can need or use now, but I don't want to have to buy a bigger printer later in the future.....

Thanks,
Linda

I have the Epson 2200 and love it. Ink is outstanding - no smudging, practically waterproof. Images are very detailed and true to life. There is an inexpensive matte Epson paper that I use all the time.
