this was my first try, but then I decided to go for this one.

Agreed!

Leading lines or curves generally have two purposes. One is to lead the viewer into the scene. The other is to lead you toward the main subject. It is most effective if they come in from the lower left because that is the natural direction humans visually scan a picture from so are easiest to pick up.

Your selected image is textbook for leading lines.

Definitely the right choice. Diagonal lines almost always have more impact than those strictly horizontal or vertical. Diagonal lines give a sense of depth to the image.

cheers, I think its all the good advice i get from here thats helping lol I look back on pictures taken ages ago and squirm with shame (",)
