This was the shot I was going to enter in leading Lines, until I stumbled upon the skiff at ebb tide. It's not processed fully to my satisfaction (needs more luminance), but I'm curious what folks think of it. Same basic approach to PP in both shots.

el sapo, your submission is much stronger compositionally than this outtake. You made the right choice IMO.
wil, this greenhouse shot is in every respect a stronger image than your entry, but it doesn't really answer the challenge of "leading lines"... It's a beautiful shot though, I like it very much.

Robt,
I liked your entry heaps, with this one I don't like the kayakers processed the way they are, I think their colour and and action wants a really "clean" look, although the landscape is just perfect this way. But that's just me.
Not much processing done on this because I went with another entry. I was delighted to see another library in the challenge too.

I was not eligible for the Leading Lines challenge, but wondered what you think of this shot scorewise?

If I were commenting:
Good conversion to B&W - works for me. Image feels to be ever so slightly tilted to the left. Composition good, DOF good, 7 from me - good luck in the challenge.

Excellent, with some clockwise rotation. Refreshingly offbeat take on the topic. 7.

I started working on the shot I entered, and didn't care for it so decided to try another direction.
I thought it turned out ok, but didn't know how the voters would react, so went back to my first shot and re-worked it. I am happy with the results. But, I tell you what, I squeezed all I could out of my entry.
Any thoughts on the alternate?
Thanks! |
