I'd really like to see the advertisement challenge revisitted. Advertisement is a huge part of photography, and here on dpc any advertisement pics are voted lower just beacuse they're advertisements. It'd be nice to try our hands at advertisement again to get some good comments with people who are rating a bunch of advertisements instead of a few out of each challenge. This would give us some great feedback about the advertisement instead of just comments saying "Yup this is an advertisement - 2".
I'd personally like to learn more about advertisement photography, and I'm sure others would too.
It's been about a year since the advertisement challenge so hopefully it's not too repetitive to do it again. |

I agree. Maybe it could be one of those editing allowed type challenges.

I agree although I am basically against the editing challenges. I just think that the original rules are still the best.

Do you mean taking pictures of existing advertisements, or making images that could, for example, fit right in in a magazine as a full-page ad?

It could be a limited exception; like the postcards, just allow text and text effects, but keep the photo rules the same.
But, I'd rather wait a while, since the postcards and stickers both seem kind of advertising-related topics to me. |

when we did it before, it was to create images that would be suitable for use in commercial advertising.

I was thinking along the lines of take a picture that would make a good advertisement for whatever product/service. |

If it's been about a year, let's go for it.Sounds exciting, particularly to those of us who have not been with dpc for quite a year yet. Love the chance to expand our creativity because of the exciting results we got on the postcards and stickers.

I would love to do this challenge. Product photography, fashion, etc. Great assignment that stimulates research skills and creativity. I am against adding text or editing - let's keep to the original rules. The theme gives us enough scope to communicate the message without text.
