Just took some shots of the planet mercury passing in front on the sun.See Here. The planet is the small dot near the top, the bigger dot in the middle is a sunspot.
I used a meade etx70mm telescope with solar filter and fuji 601z camera handheld at the eyepiece. I couldn`t use my fuji 602 because the lens is to big.

Great -- I'd heard about this, but knew I'd have no chance to see it. Will you be able to photograph the lunar eclipse next week? |

Yes Todd it is the whole sun.
As for the lunar eclipse next week i`ll probaly not be able to photograph it because it`s at about 4 am and very low on the horizon.
There is another one better placed later in the year.
