Be afraid DPC, be very afraid. My daughter Smartypants is the proud owner of a Rebel 300D:
This is an early birthday present for her (she turns 13 at the end of the month) and she had to dig deep into her own cash reserves to make the gift possible.
A big thanks go out to Neil Shapiro for contacting me when he upgraded to the new Rebel 350 and gave me a deal on his "old friend." Rest assured Neil, your camera is in very good hands and it won't be long until Smartypants makes her mark with it. |

She's not even 13, what do you expect? Check out the fuzzy on her wrist...
Congrats Andrea; you've now got me outcammed...

This is possibly the "best part" of the gift, and will last far longer than the camera. Congratulations and Happy Birthday! |

We all should go out shooting sometime, you can use my 2.8 IS and then you will be a goner.

When I was growing up, any "big-ticket item" I wanted was on a matching funds basis -- when I wanted a $400 tape recorder, I saved up $200 first. It was that type of system my earlier comment was directed at. |

This is just too cool! In this day and age where parents and kids drift apart so easily....it's wonderful to see you and your daughter connecting on this level. (my son, almost 16, thinks I am NOT cool, can you believe it! :)
Congratulations Miss Andrea and have a great birthday! :)

Agreed Gen'rl. I've never seen Andrea as willing to dig into her savings as when we started talking about buying a Rebel. She gave up some big bills and the smile never left her face. Gotta love it! |
