Good to see that the poor starving recording artists are already starting to see their retirement funds topped up ...

Respect to Dave Gilmour.
What are the chances of the record companies giving up their slice of the pie though?

All in all, not a bad experience. Philly was ridiculously crowded - and the bastards didn't televise the Pink Floyd set like they said they would. Fortunately the local radio station replayed it later Sunday night, so we got to hear.

AOL is keeping all of its Live8 contecnt online for the next few weeks at //www.aol.co.uk/live8 - the only problem being I don't think you can skip straight to the artist you want to watch. I.e. the entire concert is being replayed in a loop.

I was fortunate to have tickets to watch live8 London "on screen" in Hyde Park. My photos are here (the website is down right now but should be back up hopefully in an hour or so) unfortunately though I didn't have tickets to see the actual stage so the photos are just of the crowd and whatever you could see on the big screen.

Great idea...probably won't happen for most.
One report I heard that was sortof hypocritical...backstage, all the bands/performers (along with their own little quirks and wants) were served steak, lobster, and caviar. Hmmmmm

Yeah, I read somewhere that each band got a few grab bags valued at $12,000 each. I mean, granted they probably did not request this stuff, but seriously. What's the dealio.
