With basic rules being so limited, I just want to clear up whether or not the following are allowed - all fall under the Adjustments tab in PS7.0
Curves
Duotone
Invert

| i know that curves and duotone are legal in basic editing and i don't see why invert wouldn't be legal, as well. |

| Invert is legal in Basic -- just apply it to the whole image : ) |

They all affect just the color of the image, so they should all be fine as long as applied to the whole image.
Just be wary of going too far -- what is 'too far' is a matter of opinion. :)
