Can anyone explain how to copyright photos? I have been to copyright.gov and it seems like there has to be an easier and quicker way than what they listed. For reference, that can be found here: //www.copyright.gov/register/visual.html

AFAIK, images are your intellectual property by default. They belong to you as soon as you take them (exceptions: images that violate other's copyright).

this is true but if you ever need a copyright in court it has to be through the copyright office.
you can attach copyright notices to all your pictures without sending any of them in. |

if you are in basically any first world country, when it comes to art work (ie a photo) the copyright is created as the art work is created.
the copyrigt notice does not have to be written on the work for it to be copyrighted, but if you do wish to write it it must be written thusly
©YEAR NAME.
