I just ran across an announcement for a photo contest for the Bellevue Botanical Gardens - I think all of us DPCers in the area should enter - one of us is sure to win!

Cool-Would love to do it.... worth the three hour drive north for me, just for the drive. Another time, can't get away right now. Keep me in mind. :)

Jo Anne - Thanks for the heads up. I would enjoy this. Vacation dates are just around the corner and perhaps I could fit this in. It would be fun!

Thanks for the heads up!! I'm just getting back into my groove, and this will be a good incentive to go out.

Let's post links to entered photos during judging so we can see what we all came up with...

HHmmmmm... Could be tough competition. The rules state that "Historical photos of the garden are also acceptable..."

I am also curious (in general) about the part that goes,"Photographs with recognizable persons must include a written release from each person (or their guardian). Click here for Model Release form available for printing". Makes me wonder if professional photographers carry such forms just in case...? I wonder what "recognizable persons" really means in the real world like at the zoo or the museums. Staff and employees only? General public? Hmmm...

I have started to carry the release, just in case I get a photo with a recognizable person in that might be marketable. They need to sign the relase in order to give the photographer full copyrights for selling the photograph. I havn't had to get one signed yet though.
