I am doing a happy dance cause they sold. That is the 2 black and white ones i had on there that i told everyone about.
The bids went up to a whopping $7 and $6. Hehe, i am loaded :)
All kidding aside, i am very happy, and even though it cost me a couple dollars more than that to make them (next time i will start lowest price higher), I am still happy.
Just thought i would let you know

nice. And yeah. Higher starting price.
I am hoping to frame some of my photos and sell them this week. We'll see. Not sure if photography sells in finland
Edit: Could you possibly link me the images in case you have them on the internet?

Good job. If I were you, next time I'd add a JPG of the photo, DPC-style, for bidders to look at in addition to the framed photo.

good tip. I am planning on sending the guy who bought them the address for here so he can see the rest of my stuff and let him know if there is anything else he wants to let me know :)

Congratulations Lisa. That's a good idea too that I hadn't thought about. I have sold some prints on DPCPrints, but it seems you get so little for each one!
Please post a link to your auction so I can see how you did it! |

Congratulations, but from what I've heard, prints don't sell for much more than that at eBay. But do please let us know of future successes -- maybe you are blazing a new trail to photographic prosperity for all of us. (Not sarcasm!) |

I tried posting some artwork matted and framed and it didn't sell. Granted, I have to price it higher since they were custom made frames - maybe I'll try prints only.
Congrats on your success though - that is great news! And as GeneralE said, I hope you are blazing new trails on Ebay. |

I have a print up at the moment, not matted, not framed that has a bid at its original price (as in no one else has bid to up it any) of $14.99, not including s&h.
It has had a fair number of views and had up to 7 "watchers" at one point, so I figure that's a decent sign.
Might be a good idea to put some of yours up.
I think it cost me.. under $1.00 to list it. Not a bad price if it didn't sell and I had to eat those costs.
Since I got it for the dpcprint base cost, I am making a profit. Its not a huge profit, but its decent.
Just in case others are thinking about it, couldn't hurt to give it a try.

That's very promising.
I got listed as a seller a while ago, and tried one print, but got no action, and haven't really tried since.
I had it set up so that it was clear that when the "sale" was made, I would order the print from DPC Prints and have it drop-shipped directly to the buyer, and also used that as a way to get my DPC Prints URL into the product description.
I think what I did, to meet eBays anti-competitive guidelines, was have the eBay-listed images UNAVAILABLE in my DPCP public galleries, but people were then free to browse and buy OTHER images directly from DPCP and bypass eBay.
Problem is, if it costs $1 to list, plus commission on sale, plus about $2.50 (for an 8x10), you need it to sell for at least ... what $8 at least? And how many of those $1 listing fees with no sales does it take to eat up even that margin?
I think I need more marketable images and better publicity. (D'oh!) |

| Congrats lentil. It's still exciting just knowing someone bought your things. Good luck next time and don't be afraid to price them much higher. |

I do think that selling photographs on eBay is putting yourself in a very finicky market. When people think eBay they generally think online garage sale from my experiences, so some are hesitant to bid on something they don't think is "discounted" at all.
That said, when there seems to be a good stream of things, business can be nice.
I just wish there was a regular, steady interest like all those people selling, in bulk, digital cameras starting at $9.99 and people bid 'em up to $200.00 and then if they don't win they go to the next listing to bid.
Maybe if my images were better I'd have that kind of success.
