Circle? What the heck is a circle? How do they expect us to take a picture of such an abstract concept? I'm sure we'll see plenty of wedding rings and tires and traffic circles blah blah blah...
Hey, I'm only kidding. I'm really just trying to make a pre-emptive strike on the challenge bashing.
Gotta' go now and look for circles! |

Take a photograph where this basic shape is clearly shown as a key element. This may be a circular object, or a group of items forming a circle.
is an ellipse also a circle? What about an oval? What if I take circular objects and create a square?
Just joking of course, I too wanted to get in on the early challenge bashing.
Hopefully we won't see all the traditional circle shots like CD, records and tires.
I may have to sit this one out since I tend to lack that much creativity (and my last 3 entries haven't made it past 5.0) :(

After Indy, I wouldn't mind scoring low for Michelins.

hey, michelin is doing a stand up thing in offering rebates to the race fans.
i think the drivers did the absolute correct thing and that the F1 has got its head up its butt. why support a league that doesn't give a lick about safety? |

How many shots you think there will be of circles of flowers or sunsets through a circle. Think anyone will be bold enough to submit a nipple? How about a belly button? |

Maybe Drew and Langdon were tired of all of the complaints with the last few challenges about how "vague" the challenge descriptions were, and decided to go with something simple. Let's see how many interpretations of the word circle we get here. |

WTF? Where did you pluck that one from? Not from reality that's for sure.
The FIA rejected the team's suggestion of adding a completely untested chicane to the fastest and most dangerous part of the circuit on the grounds of safety.
Michelin were the ones who stuffed up by failing to bring a tyre that was safe, or a back up tyre which was safe. Quite right that they should pay for their mistake.

That's not quite true, bod...
Michelin did bring the wrong tyres, but they were the same tyres as used last year before the track was resurfaced and diamond cut. Someone at Michelin didn't do their homework and check the new surface before race day.
However, they attempted to rectify the situation by flying tyres over in time for the race. The FIA would not allow them to be used, due to the one tyre rule that applied from the start of this season. To have allowed Michelin runners to use the replacements was not consider fair on Bridgestone runners who were running what they brung from the start.
All in all, it was an FIA cock-up due to the dinosaurs who control the FIA, time for Ecclestone and Moseley to stand down before teams begin to switch to the new setup based in Dubai.

Oh, I hope not. As open-minded as I am, piercings make me squeamish. I think it has to do with the experiements the aliens did when they abducted me! |

Michelin aren't blaming the track surface. They claim that they "underestimated the loads". The track was also diamond cut in 2002 and didn't cause any problems then.
Al Speyer, Director of Firestone Racing, said that in spite of the new surface, the tires chosen for this year's Indy 500 ended up being, after extensive testing, the same spec as last year.

I would have seen this as the best solution, with penalties to the Michelin teams as punishment. However, I don't believe the tyres ever left France, so that plan was never really a go-er. They should have flown them over anyway and continued to appeal the decision, but didn't so had to go with the crazy chicane plan.

Well, a lot of people are blaming Max, but that whole thing runs a lot deeper than what happened in Indy. The teams took the chance to embarass the FIA and did so in a very childish way.
Also Bernie has very little power in F1 nowadays, just lots of money!
Oh, and at least American racing leagues never have any problems eh Muck?
