I shot this in the wrong ISO, with the wrong settings, (had it on manual and forgot to check). Suffice it to say, I blew it out big time.
You can see the orginal Here
Just a reminder that things aren't always lost.. and to have fun experimenting even with those photos you may think destroyed.

What, and give away *all* my secrets? hehe..
Actually, it wasn't difficult.. I just switched it to monochrome using Channel Mixer, messed with those settings.. then used PS CS2's "Highlights and Shadows" to bring out the darks more.. a touch of contrast, sharpening, a bit of spot editing with the "Soften" tool, and voila.
I tried to bring it a little darker, but it just kept looking less realistic and nice.. so this is the happy medium I found.

I shot this with a camera that was broken although I didnt realise it at the time. The voters hammered it but the comments were great. I thought it was a cool effect but I wont be able to reproduce it when I get the camera back from being fixed.

To be honest...you didn't save anything. The result you posted looks over exposed, washed out, over processed and is very hard to look at. Am I missing something here?
