Apparently it was a local phenomenon. There is a political chat room in our county where I (finally) found mention of the situation. (Link to chat topic on BCVoice)
From what is posted there, I guess a local radio broadcast signal was layed over the EAS announcement... Still strange that it affected all the stations except a few. I believe the incident to have been intentional...some nutcase, or someone who wanted to see if it could be done, or ???
I find it disturbing that our public means of communication can be so easily usurped. (But if you read the site I linked above, you'd probably tell me I have a lot of other things I should be worrying about....such as Plastic Pools from the same site.)
Oh well, I've calmed down a bit. It just took me aback last night. Thanks for your interest and concern. |

If ppl would only do that to a TV company in Brazil called Globo Organizations, I would laugh myself to death!
