I've been reading other forums on extension tubes. I was about to buy the Kenko set, but then I read that they were not compatible with EF-S lenses. (I have a 10-22mm EF-S lens I was thinking about, and leaving my options open for the 60mm EF-S macro.)

Presumably, the the "Pro Optic Auto Extension Tube"s from Adorama are. Has anyone tried them?

I know a lot of teleconverters are incompatible because the EF-S lens elements project back into the glass. Since extension tubes have no glass, I don't see why there would be any reason for incompatibility unless the mount itself is different. At worst, you might have to focus manually.

From what I've read it has to do with the electrical contacts. What I was reading on DPReview was that for the Kenko tubes, you have to remove or cover one of the contacts with tape to get it to work with EF-S. Kenko recently redesigned their tubes, but on B&W, there's a list of EF-S lenses that it doesn't work with.

I had an order in for them at Hunts, but they called me to tell me their web price was wrong, so I took the opportunity to cancel the order. I did order the Pro Optic ones from Adorama, an they were signficantly cheaper, but now I am a bit worried about no-name brand tubes and putting them in contact with my new Rebel XT. :(

Dagnabbit, NOWWW you tell me! I just ordered a single 25mm Kenko tube today from Adorama for only $6 less than the whole set you're getting. :-(
