The obsolete challenge says that a person is not allowed to be the "main" subject. How is the "main" subject determined? I just finished an obsolete picture but there is someone in the picture. The person in the picture is not the subject (i.e. "main subject") of the picture but she is prominent. Does that still work? Any ideas? It doesn't say you can't have people...it just says that people are not allowed to be the MAIN subject. Anyone else in the same boat? |

Not meeting the challenge is not against the rules -- you will not be disqualified, even if a person was the main subject. However, if a person figures strongly in the composition, as you say she does, expect to be hammered in the voting.

Try this:
Have someone else there look at the picture, and ask them where there eyes go and what they think is the major focal point in it. Nothing else.
That may give you insight into your shot from a voter's point of view. |
