In trying to put together a home studio, lighting is a big question for me. I have experimented with "gehto" lighting with pretty good results, but my question is this: Do strobes work better than still lighting, or are the strobes too hard to predict without a lot of trial and error?

Thanks - Bill

AMEN!

With strobes, you'll need a light meter since the lights are effectively "off" until you hit the shutter. Well, I guess you don't NEED a light meter, but you'll be doing a lot of guessing....
