interested but I'd have my family with me so I couldn't carpool. Also I don't know how much I would stay with the group as my two ankle biters would be with me and I don't want them romping through everyones shots!!!
But we might camp out, have to talk to the old man first :0) hehe- don't tell him I called him that tho!

I am interested. I don't have camping gear so day trip would be fine with me. I live in SE valley of Phoenix. |

I'm planning on getting to the trailhead about 11am and packing a picnic lunch.
Anyone want to carpool up? I have room for one more in my truck. Steve?
Directions to the trailhead are pretty easy. Take 180 out of Flagstaff about 30 miles. At about mile marker 247 look to your left and you will see a sign. it's a short dirt road to the trailhead that any car can easily do. The hike into the mountain is flat and less the a mile.
I'm not staying the night, but if anyone is, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is about an hour drive from Red Mountain. If I were staying the night I'd run up and get some GC sunset shots. There is a big fire on the north rim and it's smoking out the canyon right now. Hopefully it will get put out this week...

Laura, would your hubby feel better about it if he came along? He is welcome as well, and might enjoy the nature. Just a thought, I hate to see you miss out on this chance to join the group.

Good suggestion Barbara - I also hate to see you miss out on the day. I personally have met Louddog (he's my hubby), Barbara and Steve. We truly are a good group of folks (errr folks looking for a victim that is. :-)) |

I would like to go up with you if you still have room.
Am I allowed to mass murder while I'm up there? I promise to clean up after myself and bury all the corpses before we come back.

Thanks for the ride!
Think I'll try ritualistic cannibalism this time. Makes it faster to clean up afterward and humans taste just like chicken. I'll share!

Thanks you guys- I probably could have talked him into it but both our parents are out going of town and he dosen't want to subject the kids to any of your crazy bonesaw ideas!!! LOL :0)
It's just timing really (and my paranoid husband of course!) But I heard talk of something in October? Count me in on the next one for sure. So don't have too much fun slicing and dicing... but make sure to take lots of bloody pictures! ;0)
