I need some help, please! I have only entered 2 challenges and both times I have received comments that my submissions are too small. I use photoshop, I'm a real novice, and adjust the pixels so that it ends up within the 150 kb guidelines but they still appear to be quite small. I have noticed most of the other photos are much bigger. Any suggestions on what I can do to make the end result larger? Thanks.

Size the picture to 640 at its longest edge. (Image, image size)

Easiest way is "file, save as" then set the quality down to a place where the "file size" is lower than 150k. There IS a way with "save for web" but I'm sure others will help you with that - this is easiest.

In PhotoShop:

If you go to the Image Size window, do as Mavrik says and size your longest edge to 640 pixels.

Then go to Save For Web... and make sure that the .jpg option is selected. You'll see a box that indicates the image quality. Fiddle with this number until your image "file size" is 145 kb or lower (the closer the better). Then click on Save and you're done!

One thing to remember is that computer screens are only 72 dpi, so it does no good at all to save any of your web-intended files at a greater resolution.

Not too sketchy, I hope!
