I recently uploaded this photo for print. Is there any right or wrong way of choosing a frame? If so, Would this be a good choice or should I go with something simpler?

Thank you,

There are a wide variety of opinions regarding frames, some very much against, some think it really finishes off the image.

Personally, I like a simple border. In my Opinion, one thing to keep in the front of your mind; choose a frame that is complimentary to your picture and doesn't compete with it for attention.

In the example below, I think it's toooooo much. The color doesn't match anything in the photo is my main complaint. It really grabs the attention (taking it away from the photo itself). A simple black and white border (or shades of grey) that isn't too big would work much better. Again, just my opinion...

I agree with tsheets. The color is just too much. One possibility would be to tone down the color, and also add a simulated mat that is grey-toned. This would move the color farther out from the subject and give it a slight transition to the frame.

Thank you for the responses, and I do see what you are talking about. I did a screen capture to get this pic. I think I understand about how to choose a more complimentary frame.

Thanks guys!
