Thanks to the slow voters who take more time in their voting. My scores start out pretty low at the beginning of the voting cycle, then slowly go up, pretty steadily over the week. I don't know if it's because my photos aren't appreciated at first glance, and maybe some of those voters revisit their initial votes, or if the voters that vote later in the week are more generous, but I do appreciate those that take time and are more careful. Thanks! I'll try to be more careful in my own voting as well.

It always seems like Monday is the low point, then up gently from there. Must be something about that day...

I think a lot of grumpy voters see their score from the previous week, realize their masterpiece didn't win and start voting. It starts right at midnight and gets worse til Monday afternoon, then it usually picks up. :) Thankfully!

I make an initial vote on all entries then revisit and adjust based on second impressions. Judging from how my entry is doing so far I think I will have votes at the bottom of the scale and the top of the scale but not too much in the middle. I wish the people voting low would make a comment to indicate what is lacking and a suggestion for improvement. So far, I've gotten a large majority of comments from those who like the image. Most haven't commented at all but I think that might be due to the nature of the challenge. 9/153.

On the second pass I tend to add comments as well. (I am also guilty of not commenting when voting low, I try to only add a comment when I have something constructive. It's not very helpful just to say something is wrong.)

I am forcing myself to comment even when my vote is low, don't know exactly if it's appreciated though...!

Mine are pretty good until noon on Monday (local time), then go down, down, down, down all week.

To cinfirm this hypothesis, check if most of the nighttime comments complain of poor focus ;^)

My experience on transportation is the same as Jacko: still great by mid-afternoon Thursday and since then a steady erosion. Seven comments of which 5 very positive.

In general, i tend to make longish comments. Comment on all 10s, 9s and part of the 8s. Doing just that takes me a lot of time. Don't feel qualified to really comment on scores below that. What's the point of saying "this doesn't do much for me, 5"?

Thought of something this week. We all like feedback, certainly of a kind that will help us to improve. The quality of the feedback is more important than the timeliness. Why don't the technically strong people, after the results are out, take a few pictures that they think had potential but with some (serious) flaws and give some pointers on how those flaws could have been overcome. Then you learn something! If, during voting, you get a lot of comments about something being wrong, the message sinks in but you still may not know on how to avoid that next time. Then again, you get comments where some voters point out something as a flaw and other voters see the exact same thing as a strength! :)
