OK everyone, let's hear some smack-talk about our Metal entries, I'll start.

I've just submitted my entry for the Metal challenge and, hard as it may be to believe, it puts my Triangles challenge submission to shame. I strongly suggest that Site Council immediately call off the Metal challenge so all of the voters can simply sit in awe of my entry. I mean, really, let's be reasonable here, why should anybody be bothered by having to click through everyone else's photos and suddenly come upon my entry. The sudden shock of seeing the wonder of my photo could cause seriuos injury if the viewer is not prepared.

And how DID that marvelous 'Triangles' end up? Smack! Bring it on! ;^)

Yeah....well, your camera smells.

My metal pix people from around the world will tell stories of what great sharpness, and contrast was seen. They will sing songs of what amazing beauty they have witnessed. And generations from now, people will get tattoos of my "metal" submission, and name there unborn children after it.

(unless it gets DQed of course, then know one will know and I will have to go on a drinking binge.)

I still haven't entered! I guess that it is a good thing. I would hate to be compared to your greatness and fall short on my knees crying "why? why? Oh why! He warned me of His Greatness!"

Oh, hell yeah. I'll take that! After my last two submissions, I'm bound to improve at some point. "Metal" is beginning to emit the acrid aroma of a ribbon... :-)

You're going down. (And your father smells of Elderberries.)

Is it an image of you in your new, state of the art metal straight-jacket? :)

It appears that most people at DPC are have been frightened into hiding under their darkroom tables by the threat of my entry! I just showed a print of it to an innocent passerby on the street and both of his legs instantly suffered compound fractures by the shear weight of what he'd just witnessed!

I need to find some metal brussels sprouts to scare Slippy off of this challenge!

My Metal entry has demonstrated some impressive powers of its own.

Computers that hold a copy of it become invulnerable to attacks from hackers or viruses. Computer networks down which it has been sent instantly become a magnitude more efficient. If you have noticed DPC becoming a bit faster, it is because my Metal entry resides on its servers, on which all programming bugs were instantly eliminated as I typed in the exposure details (which, conincidentally, match the golden ratio). I have found that, after seeing my own photograph, I no longer need glasses and my senses are somehow keener.

Touching the screen while my image is showing has cured my hayfever, and after being sent my image, a couple of cripples, who suffered mysterious compound fractures in both legs earlier today, can both now walk freely. One of them has mysteriously also picked up the art of the tango, and was spotted this afternoon to star in a new international dance festival as the star attraction. The other is planning an assault on the marathon world record times.

Of course, like all things with a super power, my entry has attracted a fair few nemeses. I am braced for an onslaught of trolling votes, from those who are jealous of my image's power. That is the only possible reason that my image would get less than a perfect score. However, I am confident that right and might will prevail.

Well possible you could still shoot that as these days even the 'Plastic' has a bit of a small metal 'chip' in it.

I wish I could enter this //www.owwdee.com/dpchallenge/bw_disney_v2.jpg but it's too old. :( I really like it and when printed on metallic Mpix paper, it's AMAZING. Not sure if this qualifies as smack talk, however. :)

Leaglebeagle, that was one of the most impressive (and funny) posts I've ever read!!!

You made my day.

Now I'm seriously considering withdrawing my entry. Doesn't sound like it has a chance... but wait, who knows what wonders it may possess?

In the interest of humanity, I WILL LEAVE MY ENTRY IN.

I've worked in the metal stamping buisness for 27 years but, I think I'll just sit this one out in the hopes of someday wallking in the wake of your greatness:)

Strikeslip (THE ALMIGHTY PHOTO GOD)- Can I order from you thoses special glasses that will be needed to protect myself from any serious injury caused by the awe of your image. I am thinking twice about entering my substandard photo.
With you a leaglebeagle entering the best photo's the world has yet to see, I will enter my substandard image so people have something to critique.
