My family gave me a "gift certificate" for the book:
Landscape: The World's Top Photographers and the Stories Behind Their Greatest Images (Worlds Top Photographers)"
What do you think of it? Or if you know of something better, what's the best book out there to improve my landscape photography? (FWIW, I personally think I need more help deciding what to shoot, or how to make a landscape interesting, than the technicals of exposure. I take a lot of landscapes, and throw most of the shots away as "not interesting enough"!)

I've come accross quite a few of these books, and honestly they never taught me much. They're mostly about the photographers' personal ambitions and the various difficulties they overcame to get good composition. What these books lack is detailed technical explanations such as what kind of filters, polarizers etc - the kind of informations a newbie like me might need. On the other hand, a seasoned pro like you could benefit very much, since you're looking for inspiration rather than a photography lesson. |
