My son on my uncles tractor. Taken at sunset with on board flash to put the light in his eyes. Oh, I know his face is dirty. He's on vacation! :-P

i think the dirt on his hands and face add to the whole tractor/working photo. i think i would like to see a bit more of the tractor tho. if u hadn't have told me he was on a tractor i would never have known. i think the lighting is fine and dof is good. but i am left wanting to see more..

i would of liked to see more of the background exposed and a less "tight" framing

Did you take any without the flash? Such a shame to use a flash with such wonderful lighting at hand.... flash makes it look a tad flat to me... looks like he was enjoying riding the tractor :o)

No, as it was it was a pretty slow exposure. And I wanted the twinkle in his eye!

I agree about the flash - it makes it look like a studio shot with a fake tractor to me. I like how he's half turned towards the camera. I think it might have been nice for both hands not to be on the steering wheel... maybe one down to his side... more relaxed.
