How are we supposed to submit good quality pictures to the contests if they´re only allowed to be 150kb. When I shrink it down the picture becomes horible. What do you all do?
Thanks
Tom

I just resize my pictures to 640x640 or as close as I can get at 72dpi, then I use save for web, and limit the filesize to 150Kb.

I have never suffered from loss of quality from doing this.

I use Photoshop CS

my workflow.

1) Save original to a tiff file.

2)edit in tiff.

3)reduce image size in tiff.

4) save for web in jpeg file.

5) when saving for web, I get as close as possible to the required file size.

6)upload as a jpeg file.

7) relax, get a beer, hit the update button, start a thread, go to bed.

It can be done. I use Photoshop CS as well and resize/save for web using bicubic sharp and this is what I got for quality.

Though I got low marks, it would be hard to say that image quality was compromised due to shrinking.
