Well,
I plan on being there this Saturday, I just don't know from when to when though.

It's from 12PM-10PM and there is a masquarade ball for $15 afterwards. I think I'm going to skip the ball.

Arie tells me that she's done with classes at 3PM, so maybe we can all meet and go at 3PM, besides at midday, the sun creates hasrsh shadows so after 5pm might make for better lighting.

They even have a costume contest from 6:45 till 7:15.

Well, if you wait til i get home, we could carpool...
06/22/2005 11:12:31 AM · #10
yeah, sun sets past 8PM now, so if we can get there by 4PM, there should be about 4 hours of sunlight left. Besides, you know how harsh midday sun is on faces. I'm planning to spend the morning and midday shooting the Street Art Faire in Pasadena.
I can meet you at your place, you'll have to give me your address again.

I should be home by 3:30pm, so if traffic is okay, we could get down there by 4:30pm or so. It may take an hour to get to Venice during a festival like this. Plus, parking will be hell and a 1/2! I'll PM you my address later tonight :) I gotta run to work.

Raul, if you are interested in the Art Faire, it's in Pasadena, I planned on walking over to shoot them starting in AM and finishing by lunch or so, then downloading them onto my computer at home, then getting ready for Venice.

If you are interested, I can pick you up, we can hang in Pasadena, you can copy your files to a CD on my computer to make room on your CF card and then we can pick up Arie afterwards and head to Venice with fresh empty CF cards. Then afterwards, I can drop you off from Venice.
Only thing I ask is that you wear the Viagra surgical cap ;)

I am going to see how it goes tomorrow (with cleaning). My sisters (bobby's sisters actually) are coming to town for a week on Monday. I almost forgot! We have to clean like mad. So, I'll get back to you tomorrow night. I may have to bail on you. I hope I can go though...

Okay, I have to bail on this get together. I am having so much trouble with my GMAT. I am not doing well on the practice tests. It's so hard! I have to study all evening tomorrow after class. I will go out on Sunday from 11am to 1pm for the sidewalk chalk art in Pasadena, but I am going to be locked away every day til my test, so sadly... none of you will see me for a while. I have to pass this test! Wish me luck!!!

I'll be loading up the pics tonight.

Tom, for your signature, you can use [ url ] //link [ \url ] without the spaces... then the links will work :)

Don't know how to do that. Just "copy" and "paste"

I tried to get as many pictures while they are working on it and after they are done. Unfortunately, I deleted some pics while they were being worked on b/c they looked boring. Well, when they are done, they looked good and I now didn't have the pic I took of them working on it.
I guess next time, I'll be more careful.

Ok, this weekend, I've shot over 700 pictures. All in RAW too.
I'm converting the Venice Carnaval to JPEG as I type.
I also went to Peterson's Auto Museum as well on Sunday to test my dark and varying light photography skills. Very challenging.
I plan on having the Venice and the Car shots on my webpage as well maybe Monday.

thats about as many that I have to go through :) .. I have a question Tom.. how long does it take until the pressure stablize in the ear.. i still can't hear so well out my left ear (opposite ear from speaker). ??

with your sig.. just go into your profile and put:

and replace "//link" with your web address. The spaces Arie is talking about is the [ url ]and [ /url ] should look like and it should turn out like so Tom's Page

From what I see from your sig just add to the beginning and it should be good.

Raul,
The lenght of the hearing loss depends on the amount and the intensity of the noise you were exposed to. Sound waves are weird and can affect the ear that was actually away from the speaker.

As a rule of thumb, I'd let 1 week pass. As long as it is slowly improving, I'd leave it alone. If you aren't seeing any change after 1 week, I'd recommend a hearing evaluation with a audiometer.

Thanks Tom! so do you want me to fax you my insurance information for payment or what? :) Seen the couple of car photos you put up last night. Looks like it was very challenging with the lighting inside. Can't wait to see more.

Those are from a long time ago.
I'll post the new ones from yesterday on the webpage tonight.
They should be a lot better.

I saw this post too late! Would have loved to have gone. Did anyone get good shots they want to share?

Ah, you gotta check the forums more often. It got fun at night with belly dancers and some pirotechnic band. We also walked up and down the boardwalk for street candids as well.
Mine will be up by late night tonight on my webpage.
