I shot a wedding last week and the bride would like the proofs sent on CD. Is there a way to mark all the shots with a "proof" stamp without having to write proof on each one? There's 318 pictures and I don't have that kind of time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got this little gem for 30 bucks OPanda Digital Film... it allows bacth processing of watermarks/siggies and an added bonus it is does Velvia and Kodak B/W film emulation.

While there grab the free Photo Filter program it has a lot of useful Camera Filter emulators in it.

ED: fixed link so it didn't go off to the buy now page and added the photofilter blurb.

If you have Photoshop..
//www.creativemac.com/2002/04_apr/tutorials/psbatch.htm
//webdesign.templatemonster.com/web/photoshop/tutorials/record-play-an-action.4777.html

Here are a few. Google for more or check help in Photoshop it gives instructions. Not sure which version you have.

Photoshop is great if you want a bit of control,
IrfanView can do it much quicker and more simply.

Did you explain to her that a disc of pictures are the "negatives" in digital photography? Sometimes people don't know how digital works. Instead of marking each shot, you could always tell clients about how the proofs work in digital and that you have to charge for them. I charge $150CND. Lots of times clients will think it's great you shoot digital cause they can get a disc from you pretty easily and cheapily, not realizing that's what negatives are in the DSLR realm. It's up to you to set them straight :-)

Yes...

Two things. Monitors have low DPI, reduce the "size" of the images in batch with a Sharp or USM effect. Then you can create an object in the shape of "PROOF" then make this object partially transparent and texture the object. The result will be "a semi-transparent" PROOF....

Then merge these images in a batch process.

I would probably use 640x480...good enough for viewing. However, include one good full res picture so that she can see the quality and detail of the actual images.
