Is there a major diffrence between the
70-300mm F4-5.6
70-300mm F4-5.6 APO

the sigma apo seems to be about $100 more, are these good lenses, and if so in what uses?

The APO version has an apochromatic??? lens. In real terms, less to no CA. The cheaper DL version is said to be more prone to CA than the APO version.

There is enoughht difference to justify the higher price. I got mine on ebay, new for under $200...178 plus shipping. I think b&h has them for around $219 or so - it is about $50 more than the non-APO version.

Here are some shots i took with it - nice and sharp lens.
