I have looked at each image in Darkness no less than 4 times and some as many as 8 or nine times. I have left images up on my monitor, walked away, and come back and taken a look see, walked away again. All day at work, at night, etc. My first three passes I voted on none. On my fourth I started to vote, but not on all images. On the 5th, some of the images were striking me in a whole differnt way. You start to get into mindsets and thinking patterns and wow - some of these are powerful images! Trying to understand someone elses relationship with Darkness is a lot more than a few minute "I'll just rip through these and apply my narrow interpretation of the challenge."
There are a lot of images I didn't vote on (I am not done yet though). I left comments on some telling them why. But a lot of others I found were very profound in their expression of Darkness. A profoundness that doesn't show itself with a few second glance or so. A lot of these images are just totally different to me now than they were when I first looked at them.
I have not been here long but I would say this is the most cerebral/emotional challenge since I have for sure. And for that reason I think all should take a bit more time looking at the images - especially those who voted low because they felt they didn't 'meet the challenge.' There are some very expressive images in this collection. I applaud all the photographers who bared a bit of their soul with this challenge. Well done!
Ok, I'll shut-up now...

I agree. If I don't "get" a photo, I skip it and wait till I come across it again and see if that helps. One glance isn't enough to judge a lot of them.
On a side note, I've voted on 60% of the entries so far and I'm really surprised by the subject of most of them. I think I expected that with so many entries for the "Decisions" challenge there would be many more for the "Darkness" challenge, but so far I've only come across a few. :)
