Okay, can't explain this at all. I have had my Epson 2200 for almost a year. Normally I have no problems with it. I have run close to 100 prints off of it. I also consider myself a computer geek- although right now I am feeling less geeky than normal. Now I have a problem I can't seem to figure out. I decided to experiment with Legion paper (silk surface) (normally I use the Epson papers), I have used Legion in the past, but have never used them with my 2200. I got my ICC profile, ran off a sample- perfect exactly what I wanted. Went back to run off a couple more- they were all over the place- next one that came out had a magenta shift, then there was a contrast issue- all printed with the exact same image and settings. What is going on? Any ideas. I have checked ink, profile everything. I am printing through PS7 (anyone care to gift the new PS to me?)

Paper too thick or something jammed in there?

Things are nice and clean. I'm guessing it is actually a software issue and not a hardware issue. When I first saw it I thought I had made the mistake of setting to "Printer Color Manage", but went back and checked my notes and nothing had changed- except the prints that were coming out.

probably not a lot of help and you may have done it already but have you checked to make sure your quality and paper types are correct? Don't mean to insult your intellect but little things like that can get overlooked easily. Maybe even shut everything down and start from scratch with the ICC reloaded.

Good luck

Feel free to insult me. I sat in front of my computer last night for about 2 hours trying to figure something out. Right now I would accept help even if it started with hey dumb***.

try printing the Epson head check and see if all 6 colors seem solid on the paper stock your working on.

Have you tried printing on your regular paper you use to see if it may be a paper related issue? From experience recently I had a very similar problem. I usually use the highest quality Canon paper in the photo printer. Someone wanted me to produce prints for them but on their paper - it is similar to the silk type you describe. Anyway, the paper was so different that the inks just would not perform properly. I had pics that looked tinted green and streaks and stripes. You name it. They were watching horrified thinking I had ruined their images. I told them it was paper related, fed a sheet of mine in and the print was perfect. She paid me for my paper and left very happy with two full sets of prints.

I agree, the paper could be the problem. Epson paper works extremely well in our Canon printer, but once I tried using HP paper when it was all I had in 8x10. Everything looked fine at first, but when the print dried, all the areas that should have been black turned copper. Paper can make all the difference!
