I understand that I must vote on at least 20% for my votes to count. But what happens if I have commented on less than 20%? Will the comments still count even if the vote does not?
Hope that question makes sense.

Any comments you make will count, regardless of whether you voted on the required number of entries (or even voted at all).
As you know, we do strongly encourage commenting(especially on entries which you give a low score); but it may help to be aware that you are not required to comment on an entry to vote on it.

You're right that you have to vote at least %20 for them to count, if under 20, than when voting ends, those votes (and I believe comments) are 'thrown' out. (that is why there is recalculating of scores at the end of a challenge)
You do not have to comment on %20 though. As long as you have voted 20, any comments you made will still be permanently recorded.
...if I am wrong, may an SC strike me down where I stand !, or at least correct me :-P
