I'm considering demoting my 300D to second camera, and buying a second hand 1D mkI (NOT mkII).
Any feedback from owners? How does it compare to your old/new camera?
Opinions please!

what is there to think about?
if you have the money there is no doubt about it. |

You'll end up with a lower resolution, that's something to think about...

I know peopel that have it and love it. its fast and Sports illustrated printed cover photos from its files. it is less resolution though, but really not that much lower. It's a big difference in build, its a professional cam |

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Yeah, lower res, but being a proper pro body it's very tempting..

I have to say, I can't see that working at all, while the 1D is not the "best" Eos1 camera it's still a much better camera than the 300d... so what assuming you have a body with one lens and the other with another lens... will you really "trust" your 300d for that really important shot with the apropriate lens?
I was in the exact same predicament when I switched up to my current body....and I gave my GF the 300d.

Go with the Mark 11 unless you are shooting for large print magazines. It will do you proud. |

I don't think I will trust my 300D any less than I do now, I think I'll perhaps just notice its lack of speed more. All in all, I've found my 300D to be a pretty good camera; it's been used for numerous pro jobs and my shots have been in a few magazines.
gwphoto, unfortunately I can't afford a mkII, only a mkI. :(
