hey guys I'm in austin and new to this community..would love to meet up with you guys / girls for some kind of shoot though! =)

I'll ask work today. Usually no problem especially this far in advance, but if we already have a shoot planned then no go. I think it would be a whole lot of fun though.

Not going to be able to get off work. The boss is on vacation, so I have to be there. Still willing to get together Saturday or Sunday. You guys let me know.

I'm going to be there on Fri and Sat. When and Where to meet up?

And I'd still like to here about meeting the DFW area, Zoo, State Fair, etc!

Let's get together on Saturday then. Saves a little vacation time anyway. I'm pretty excited. I'll be making calls this week to see what kind of position we can get in. Dar, do you go to metro camera club or oklahoma city camera club? do you know what the difference is?

I was thinking of going down there around 10:30 AM. I have some folks lined up to shoot portraits early saturday morning, so I won't be available before then. I have no idea where to meet. Maybe at the Bass Pro? Parking could be a challenge.

I am a member of both camera clubs. The Oklahoma Camera Club is an older club and an older crowd in general, but more open to digital photography and digital manipulation. The Metro Camera Club is a more active crowd - field trips, etc. but the competition rules favor traditional photography - limiting manipulation to basic editing rules. The OCC has competition at each meeting and the different skill level classifications are seperated before judging. The MCC has competition once per month with all entries judged consecutively and skill level/placing is revealed after the judging. They also offer critique by an experienced member. I have learned from and enjoyed both clubs. I don't know which I would give up if I had to make a choice.

Lets meet at the pond in front of Bass Pro at 10:15-10:30. I will be the silly girl with more camera equipment than sense. I hope to see you there.
