Just need to know before I submit, is soft focus allowed in basic editing? I don't think it is, but just wanted to make sure. |

How are you getting the soft focus effect?

Through photoshop, not a lense. |

Any effect (pretty much) applied evenly to the whole image is allowed. If you were to simply apply gaussian blur, that's perfectly fine afaik.

As long as it is on the original layer.

Well, with the photoshop program I use (Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8)
there aren't that many steps. Steps: 'adjust' toolbar, 'softness',
'softfocus'. And with the settings, basically, low 'halo', medium 'focus'

Basically, if applied without making selections. : ) |

I would disagree. From the rules:
However, no effects filters may be applied to your image, with the exception of Noise and Gaussian Blur, which are allowed.

If PSP has Gaussian Blur, then use that instead. |

Sorry guys,
When I entered my photo this thread wasn't done yet. (It was at the 'Soft Focus=Legal' part) so I used it...I hope I don't get in trouble :-o |
